# AI for medical and dental practices in Boston.

Independent practices are buried in administrative work: intake forms, insurance paperwork, referral letters, phone calls, and follow-ups. AI can lift a lot of that load from your front desk and clinicians. It just has to be set up by someone who takes patient privacy as seriously as you do.

Where AI helps a practice

- Drafting referral letters, prior authorization requests, and appeal letters from chart information
- Summarizing long outside records before an appointment
- Answering routine patient questions about hours, directions, forms, and preparation instructions
- Turning intake forms and phone messages into clean, organized records for staff
- Staff-facing assistants that answer questions from your own policies and procedures

HIPAA from the start

Under HIPAA, any vendor that handles protected health information on your behalf needs a Business Associate Agreement, and most consumer AI tools do not offer one. That rules out a lot of the tools staff might already be experimenting with.

We help practices pick AI services that will sign a BAA and configure them correctly, or run a model on hardware inside your office so patient information never leaves it. We also help you write a simple staff policy so everyone knows which tools are approved for which information.

How JTPCK works with practices

We spend time with your front desk, billing staff, and clinicians to see where the hours actually go. Then we recommend a few focused changes and build them to fit the scheduling, EHR, and phone systems you already use.

Every engagement includes staff training and written guides. For practices that want patient data to stay entirely in-house, see our page on [on-premise AI](https://jtpck.com/services/on-premise-ai).

Common questions

## Is ChatGPT HIPAA compliant?

The consumer version is not an appropriate place for patient information. Some AI providers offer business or enterprise plans that will sign a Business Associate Agreement. Whether a setup is compliant depends on that agreement and how the tool is configured and used.

## Will AI make clinical decisions?

No. We focus on administrative and documentation work. Clinicians stay in charge of care, and anything AI drafts is reviewed by a person before it goes anywhere.

## Can AI work with our EHR or practice management system?

Often, yes, depending on what your system allows. Where direct integration is not possible, we build workflows around exports, documents, and email that still save staff time.

## Do you work with dental, therapy, and specialty practices?

Yes. The administrative problems are similar across small practices, and we tailor the work to your specialty and your staff.
