# JTPCK is a software and AI studio in Boston, Massachusetts.

We build AI systems and software products for businesses, with the same care for design as for engineering.

We design and build software for companies that need it done right the first time: custom AI systems, web applications, and native apps for iOS, Android, and macOS. We take projects from the first conversation through launch and support them after, and we are comfortable either owning a build end to end or working alongside an existing team.

More and more of our work is applied AI. We build retrieval systems that answer questions from a company's own documents with citations, document analysis pipelines that read collections far too large for people to get through, and fine-tuned models that run on hardware our clients control. The goal is always the same: AI that does a specific, useful job and can show where its answers came from.

That approach has been tested on hard problems. In one project we pointed a multi-model AI pipeline at 4.35 million handwritten pages from the Dutch East India Company archive. It surfaced a previously uncatalogued 1812 meteorite fall in India, now with meteorite curators for review, along with lost rhinoceros shipments and volcanic eruptions missing from the global record. JTPCK was founded by [Jesse Waites](https://jessewaites.com), who has spent twenty years designing and building software. Projects are staffed with a small group of senior engineers and designers we have worked with for many years, so every client works directly with experienced people rather than a rotating bench.
